Ceiling & Water Damage Repair in South Florida
Brown rings, bubbling paint, and sagging ceilings are almost always a symptom of moisture above — a roof leak, an AC condensate line, a plumbing drip, or a failed shower pan. HandyFixNow repairs the damaged ceiling and restores the finish, and we tell you plainly when the source needs to be fixed first.
Signs You Have a Ceiling Problem
- Brown or yellow water rings that grow after heavy rain
- Paint that bubbles, blisters, or peels away from the ceiling
- A ceiling that feels soft, spongy, or visibly sags
- A musty smell in a room with no visible leak
- Cracking or separating drywall seams near an exterior wall
- Stains that reappear within weeks of being painted over
How We Handle Water-Damaged Ceilings
- 1. Assess the damage — we identify how far the moisture has travelled, which is usually further than the visible stain.
- 2. Confirm the source is resolved — repairing a ceiling while a leak is still active just means doing the job twice.
- 3. Remove what has failed — saturated or crumbling drywall comes out rather than being covered over.
- 4. Rebuild and refinish — new drywall installed, taped, textured to match, primed, and painted.
Why We Do Not Just Paint Over It
Stain-blocking primer hides a mark for a few weeks, then the moisture returns and the stain comes back with it. If a ceiling has been painted over and the ring has reappeared, that is a strong sign the underlying leak was never addressed. Once the source has been repaired by the appropriate trade, we would rather restore the ceiling properly once than repaint it again next season.
Where We Work
Ceiling and water damage repairs are completed across Palm Beach County, Broward County, and North Miami-Dade. Because South Florida roofs and AC systems take a beating, this is one of the most common jobs we run.
